Your Daily Contribution & Impact:

Reporting to the Director of Logistics, the Transportation Analyst's mandate is to analyze, negotiate and co-ordinate all of the Distribution Centre and Corporate Store freight activities across Canada. In particular, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining a high level of service by optimizing the efficiency of our supply chain while respecting operational budgets and the service to our customers.

 

  • The Transportation Analyst actively participates as a member of the Logistics Team
  • Be responsible at the bid phase to provide transport cost budgets and work closely with each site to develop the transportation strategy within each market
  • Effectively manage on-time deliveries to customers, via interactions with carriers to ensure volume is delivered as expected, and mitigate any risks to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Work closely with the DC's to ensure on-time movement of loads from DC to customers, and ensure continuous improvement and SOP compliance, in collaboration with carriers
  • Manage relationships with all carriers, monitor carrier performance, improve on-time, and define working strategies with them
  • Work with Customer Service teams to identify customer requirements, and opportunities for transportation efficiencies
  • Drive/support efforts to improve stock-transfer on-time delivery and truckload utilization for these shipments to drive efficiencies
  • Track and verify on-time delivery and obtain service level reports for transportation partners across Canada
  • Coordinate the contractual agreement with our third-party partners, including cost and service levels for international shipments
  • Monitor compliance of customer specific carrier assignments.
  • Prepare regular reports to Management on both cost and performance of transportation
  • Work on special projects as required
  • Monitor and management of inbound container freight
  • You will continually raise the bar for key deliverables such as on-time to customer, on-time to warehouse/company owned stores and targeted freight budget goals


Expertise & Essential Skills:
 

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Consumer Packaged Goods or Transportation.
  • Experience using SAP or other warehouse management systems
  • Comfortable dealing with large sets of data, analyzing it and pulling insights to drive efficiency.
  • Continuous improvement mindset - comfortable putting your hand up to bring up ideas and improvements.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience in the Canadian Rail industry is an asset
  • Knowledge of air and sea transportation and customs management
  • Excellent English and French communication skills, both written and spoken.
