Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) or Oshawa Elevation Centre (OEC) three times per week, at minimum.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead and own the creation of Simulation Needs required to meet Propulsion Thermal milestones, including TFRP for Software, Calibration, Systems and Features tests
- Lead the management of CoSimulation packages used by the Propulsion Thermal Management organization, including hosting collaboration meetings with key stakeholders (VDDV, SIL, System, SW and Calibration)
- Support the evaluation of CoSimulation packages, including data reviews, simulation behavioural test, automation methods, and authoring/execution of comprehensive test plans to assess software and simulation products at different system levels
- Develop and Define testing strategies (Different testing levels, manual and automation) to ensure first time quality.
- Understand functional, safety, compliance requirements and implement appropriate test plans and setups.
- Provide expertise and guidance to the team to identify and resolve product problems; contribute and guide the team knowledge base so common software errors, corner case situations and other learnings can be retained and shared.
- Be an active member of the SQA scrum, acting as a subject matter expert to enable Solution in Context and System Testing for CoSimulation Needs
- Manage defects identified by various stakeholders within Propulsion Thermal Management, tracking issues to resolution
- Lead collaboration efforts with controls, diagnostic, and software cross-functional teams as well as other stakeholders to define effective acceptance criteria.
Additional Job Description
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
- 5+ year experience in embedded software development for Thermal Systems
- Knowledgeable in thermal systems, with applications in physics, behavioral and/or hardware modeling
- Experience with Atlassian toolchain (Jira Align, Jira Cloud, Confluence)
- Adept experience with MATLAB and Simulink in context of plant model development and integration and basic usage of additional simulation tools (e.g. GT-Power, AMESIM, CarSim)
- Proficient in automotive communication technologies such as CAN, LIN, SPI and automotive ethernet.
- Competent with embedded controls software and the automated software build processes including gcc compiler, gdb debugger, Eclipse, Jenkins and ETAS INCA tools
- Experience in virtualization or software integration
- Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity while driving timely decision making.
- Ability to travel to the US.
