Job Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the 310T Mechanic, will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining heavy trucks, trailers, cranes & other heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Shift: Days (Mon-Fri), 6am to 3pm
Union Hourly Rate: $38.24
Other: On-site kitchen with daily meal allowance (free breakfast & lunch), no holiday work
** Unionized position with pension and benefits through LiUNA Local 183 **
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy trucks, trailers, cranes & other heavy equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, and suspension issues.
- Complete work orders, reports, and documentation accurately.
- Keep shift Foreman updated with vehicle progress.
- Test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functionality before returning to service.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and software efficiently.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet service deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned and required
Qualifications
- Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License (Ontario) required.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in truck and trailer repairs.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift heavy components and work in various conditions.
- Valid 310S Automotive Service Technician License (Ontario) is considered an asset.
- Experience with mobile crane maintenance and repairs is considered an asset.
- Valid G driver's license (DZ or AZ license is an asset).
