City Experiences is seeking a Facilities Supervisor for our City Cruises operation in Niagara Falls.

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Facilities Supervisor is a hands-on supervisor responsible for ensuring that all buildings, structures, properties, and equipment is in good working order and visually appealing at all times. This includes the ticket plaza and the group booth, the lower landing, administrative offices, warehouse, vehicles, elevators, and funicular. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities, the Facilities Supervisor will oversee that all cleaning, painting, repairing, renovating, and remodeling is done in an efficient and safe manner. In this role, the Facilities Supervisor will ensure that projects are completed as directed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensures the safe and reliable operation of all systems, machinery, and equipment under their care with due regard for the Niagara City Cruises (NCC) ISO Respect Management System (RMS) as well as regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Performs various duties such as cleaning, maintaining, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing as required
  • Assist the Manager, Facilities, ensures the Facilities crew are working safely and efficiently
  • Assists with onboarding and training of Facilities crew members
  • Maintains operations and maintenance logs and checklists, paying particular attention to proper recording of incidents and irregularities
  • Assists the Manager, Facilities to create and enforce preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Supports Marine, Guest Experience, Safety Services, Food, Beverage & Retail, and all other departments with projects, maintenance, and operations as required
  • Responsible for the safe working condition and regular maintenance of all buildings, equipment, machinery, and motor vehicles
  • Assists the Manager, Facilities, with project planning and execution
  • Routinely inspects all areas of site for unsafe conditions, and assists in accident investigations and reports
  • Reports non-conformities to the Manager, Facilities
  • Assist with ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the business at all times using all available means
  • Operates machinery such as forklifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and snow clearing equipment
  • Participates in emergency drills in accordance with Regulatory and Contractual requirements. Participates in safety meetings in conformance with NCC policy, to ensure a routinely efficient and safe operation at all times and the proper use of equipment during any possible emergency
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
  • Knows and understands internal policy and external regulatory requirements that relate to the position and department
  • Maintains a high customer service level
  • Works with a safety mindset and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (refer to appearance standards in employee handbook)
  • Reports to work on time and for all scheduled shifts
  • Understands all Niagara City Cruises' policies and procedures relating to the employee's role within the company
  • Maintains any applicable licenses and certifications
  • Completes any other duties as assigned


Requirements & Qualifications:

 

  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
  • Possess and maintain a current Ontario driver's license and satisfactory driving record
  • Strong problem solvingskills
  • Minimum three (3) yearssupervisory experience in facilities, maintenance operations or equivalent
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant maintenance and repair experience
  • General knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
  • WHMIS (training provided)
  • Forklift certification (training provided)
  • Fall Arrest training an asset
  • Confined Space training an asset
  • Project management skills an asset
  • Lock Out Tag Out training an asset
  • Experience with ISO compliance & standards an asset
  • Ability to continually and repeatedly perform functions both indoors and outdoors
  • Must be willing to work all shifts including days/evenings shifts including weekend and holidays
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move, or lift up to 23 kg
  • Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
  • Wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection) as required
  • Candidates, who, in addition to the above, possess specialized skills such as fitting, welding, equipment operating, will be given strong consideration
