Position Summary
The Beer Hawker is responsible for serving alcoholic beverages to customers in the stands quickly, courteously, and efficiently while also maintaining company standards and policies regarding cash handling, alcohol service, sanitation, and safety.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Verifying inventory and taking responsibility for all products.
- Creating exception experiences for all through stellar customer service.
- Handle a hawker tray and serve alcoholic beverages to guests.
- Loudly announce all available beverage items to guests seated within the GMC Stadium Venue.
- Maintain a clean and organized hawking tray.
- Make change for customers following established cash handling and inventory procedures.
- Take payment through the use of a Moneris machine.
- Pick up and purchase additional products from the Hawker Room as required throughout the event.
- Return and sell back any unused product to the Hawker Room at the conclusion of the selling period.
- Actively participate in safety programs and follow policies.
- Our venue includes exposure to animal dander, various weather conditions, loud music, and food allergens.
- Help pick up the empties in the seating bowl between the Rodeo and Evening performances.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Previous cash handling experience is required.
- Previous experience with Moneris machines.
- Previous alcohol service experience is an asset.
- Outgoing and friendly personality.
- Strong mathematical ability with strong cash counting skills
- Willingness to learn and follow directions.
- Able to complete physically strenuous tasks, such as holding a hawking tray, walking flights of stairs, and being on one's feet for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying 20+ pounds.
- Possesses strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Able to take initiative and make decisions as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- 18 years of age or older.

- Be 18 years of age or older by June 2025
- Be legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada
- Have a Social Insurance Number
- Have a bank account in their own name
- Must successfully participate in a criminal background check
- Be available to work for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede
- Complete and comply with all required training and policies
