About the opportunity...
As an integral part of the "we can do that" operation, this position is responsible for the direction and control of the New Vehicle Sales Department, including staffing, forecasting, attaining projected sales objectives, and bottom-line results. Specifically:
- supervise, direct, and lead in all aspects of the New Vehicle Sales operation
- implement all systems, scheduling, and procedures in the New Vehicle Sales operation
- develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base
- plan and execute monthly and annual objectives for vehicle sales, gross profit, and expense management
- with General Manager, prepare and manage the departmental budget
- forecast, target, and track monthly sales, profit, and expense objectives
- develop, implement, and manage vehicle sales standard operating procedures, and systems for customer follow-up and communication
- work closely with Sales Consultants and Finance & Insurance Managers, coaching and improving performance relating to vehicle and product sales, including vehicle trade-in opportunities
- manage the customer relationship management system, ensuring that transactions are reported and recorded accurately
- manage new vehicle inventory
- maintain a well-balanced inventory and sell each vehicle with maximum gross and minimum expense
- ensure correct purchasing and price evaluation decisions when purchasing vehicles
- ensure that all required licensing and regulatory requirements are followed
- track and post daily sales performance
- maintain and track marketing and promotional programs
- To provide advice, sell/lease new and pre-owned MB Commercial Vans products based on optimum standards of gross profit, volume and the satisfaction of dealership clientele.
- To welcome prospects and build relationships of trust and to demonstrate serious commitment to customer-satisfaction.
- Sales prospecting to generate new clientele
- To help customers select products by asking qualifying questions and to carefully listen to their answers in order to complete their transportation needs-assessment.
- To offer and arrange road tests for all potential customers while adhering to dealership procedures in obtaining appropriate documents from drivers prior to the road tests.
- To explain, in a professional manner, all terms and conditions governing commercial long-term leases compared to the traditional purchase arrangements based on customers' needs.
- To obtain all required information and to complete all documents required to finalise sales.
- To negotiate price and to obtain transaction approvals by MB Vans Sales Manager/Duty Manager.
- To notify MB Vans Sales Manager/Duty Manager for all exchanges or refunds or when a credit note is drawn up.
- To keep up-to-date on novelties with regard to products, features, accessories etc. and to explain features and benefits to prospects and customers whenever necessary.
- To participate in all mandatory and elective pertinent training courses/events for products and sales, as instructed by management and required by MB Canada.
- To verify all options and inspect sold products in advance of clients' arrival for sales deliveries.
- To ensure clients understand necessary features' functionality during deliveries.
- To ensure all warranties and delivery documents are present, signed, all funds are collected and files are verified by MB Vans Sales Manager/Duty Manager prior to customers' leaving the dealership.
- To introduce customers to the after-sales departments' personnel (service & parts), in order to highlight the quality and efficiency of future repairs and maintenance services provided by the dealership. (during delivery process)
- To follow up on accessories, documents or other special requests promised to customers, in order to ensure all customer expectations are met and exceeded. (during and after delivery)
- To contact customers within 24-48 hours of the sales delivery ensuring their satisfaction with the product and to proactively resolve and report any possible problems to management.
- To ask for referrals when satisfactory feedback is provided after delivery follow up contacts.
To assist in setting-up displays inside the showroom and outside lots for new and pre-owned vehicles throughout the year. - To act as a mentor to new team members joining MB Vans Division.
- To participate in weekly sales meetings as scheduled.
- To maintain a professional appearance, clean grooming and brand appropriate coordinated attire when in the dealership or dealing with clients.
- To perform other tasks based on management requirements and instructions.
About you...
Ideal candidates will have a strong background and proven experience in customer service and dealership environment, including:
- 5 years of proven experience in a dealership facility
- Secondary School diploma, or equivalent experience
- proficiency in working with ERP systems (i.e., CDK/Reynolds)
- Driver's License and clean Drivers Abstract
- Valid OMVIC License
- ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
