Our total compensation package offers health, dental, EFAP, vision and life insurance. Base salary range for a Shop Hand in this role is $18-$20 per hour.
The role
Under the supervision of the Body Shop Manager, this position is perfect for someone looking to start their career in in the HD Body Shop industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for general maintenance of the day-to-day shop activities as well as continuous improvement and learning.
General Maintenance - 70% of your time is spent here
- Perform basic building maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
- Keeps shop area neat, clean and safe.
- Cleaning and refueling of Commercial Vehicles
- Ensure adequate stock of shop items so they don't run short
Other Duties- 30% and its important!
- Reports any accidents or incidents that require attention immediately.
- Advise Shop Foreman or Service Manager of broken or damaged shop tools and equipment and the repairs required.
- Clean wash bay, floors and walls
- Delivering parts to customers
- Empty garbage cans
Education
- Highschool Diploma (past or in-progress)
- Class 5 driving license required
- Possession of a valid class 3 driver's license is an asset
Experience
- Experience in the industry or in a body shop/automotive environment is preferred
- Must be able to work in a high pressure environment safely
- Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
