Role Purpose: Responsible for identifying the customer need and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, articulates what success looks like for a product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality.

To help us continue expanding our offerings, we're in search of a junior product manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for gaps in product offerings and an innovative mindset for filling them. This person should be a highly skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of a product, from conception to release. We're looking for someone who can guide cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve customer experience and grow market share. 

Objectives of this role:
 

  • Drive the product- and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspective.
  • Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation.
  • Analyze product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they're met.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain production timelines across multiple departments.
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans.


Responsibilities:
 

  • Drive key stages of the product lifecycle, including market research, competitive analysis, roadmap planning, and product launch execution.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from strategy and planning to execution, launch, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and drive product vision, roadmap, and priorities based on business goals, user needs, and market opportunities.
  • Lead cross-functional teams-including engineering, design, marketing, and sales-to deliver high-impact products on time and within scope.
  • Translate complex business problems into clear product strategies, detailed requirements, and measurable outcomes.
  • Conduct deep market and user research to identify opportunities, validate solutions, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Act as the voice of the customer and advocate for user needs throughout the product development process.
  • Partner with leadership to align product direction with company objectives and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior product managers, helping to elevate team performance and build product management best practices.
  • Drive go-to-market strategies in collaboration with marketing and sales, including positioning, messaging, and enablement.


Travel: Up to 10% travel, including international.

Customer Focus: This is a visible position with a critical impact on the SW COE's productivity and other software teams. Internal and external contacts include all levels of employees within the company, vendors, division management, consultants, and other professional business contacts within the industry. 

Required skills and qualifications:
 

  • 7+ years of experience in a dynamic product management role
  • Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
  • High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.


Preferred skills and qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in product design or engineering
  • Previous experience in software and web development
  • Proven success as a product developer in a nonmanagerial role
