As an Autobody Repair Planner, your primary responsibility is to facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of our autobody repair facility. You will play a crucial role in coordinating repair processes, ensuring that vehicles are accurately assessed, and repair work is efficiently scheduled. Your objective is to optimize workflow, enhance customer satisfaction, and contribute to the overall success of our autobody shop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Conduct thorough assessments of damaged vehicles, identifying repair needs and documenting necessary work
- Collaborate with technicians and estimators to gather detailed information on required repairs
- Develop comprehensive repair plans, outlining the step-by-step process for each vehicle
- Determine the required materials, parts, and labor necessary for successful repairs
- Consult with the production team to establish realistic timelines for completion
- Serve as a liaison between customers, insurance companies, and internal teams
- Communicate repair details and timelines clearly to customers, addressing any concerns or questions
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components
- Efficiently schedule repair work to maximize productivity and meet deadlines
- Monitor the progress of ongoing repairs, making adjustments as necessary to address any delays or issues
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflow and optimize resource allocation
- Conduct final inspections to ensure that repairs meet high-quality standards before vehicles are returned to customers
- Address any discrepancies or issues promptly, working closely with technicians to resolve problems
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of repairs, parts used, and other relevant information.
- Generate reports detailing repair progress, key metrics, and areas for improvement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in a professional autobody shop environment
- Proven experience in autobody repair planning or a related field
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and industry standards
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with computerized estimating and repair planning software
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
