What You'll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
  • Inspect motor in operation, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive/generator systems including fuel system, engine, drive train, emission control and exhaust, electrical and electronic systems using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's performance specifications.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.
  • Advise customers on work performed, general generator condition and future repair requirements.


What You'll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
 

  • Must be Journeyperson certified.
  • Class 5 license with a clean or satisfactory driver's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points) is required. Class 3 license is considered an asset.
  • Experience with generator service and repair is an asset.
  • Available to work overtime when required.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
