TNDC is looking toadd a results orientated Fleet/Asset Manager to join out team. This position will lead and manage ourFleet/Assets division.

The Fleet Managerwill be responsible for the strategic management of our fleet, includingmaintenance, compliance, safety programs, and yard operations. This positionrequires a detail-oriented professional who excels in operational planning,budget management, and leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven trackrecord of success in fleet management and a strong commitment to safety andenvironmental practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies forthe effective management of the company's physical assets, including equipment,machinery, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular assessments andevaluations of assets to determine their condition, performance, and lifecyclestatus.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive assetregisters, documenting key information such as acquisition date, depreciation,maintenance history, and current valuation.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders,including operations, finance, and procurement, to ensure alignment of assetmanagement activities with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement asset maintenanceprograms, including preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs,to optimize asset performance and longevity.
  • Manage vendor relationships andcontracts for asset maintenance, repair, and replacement services, ensuringcost-effectiveness and quality service delivery.
  • Monitor regulatory compliancerequirements related to asset management, ensuring adherence to relevantstandards and regulations.
  • Analyze asset performance data,identify trends, and develop recommendations for process improvements andcost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain asset managementpolicies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with industry bestpractices and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide regular reports and updates tosenior management on asset performance, maintenance activities, budgetvariance, and strategic recommendations.
  • Identifies capacity constraints andidentifies solutions to reduce cost and maintain service.
  • Develop and manage the division's Profit/Loss(P/L), ensuring financial targets are met through cost-effective operations.
  • Provide leadership and developmentopportunities for direct reports by establishing performance expectations,conducting regular performance evaluations; coaching and mentoring; providingrecognition and rewards.
  • Manage yard operations, optimizing space utilization, and ensuringthe secure and organized storage of equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs,improve service delivery, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Uses relevant business metrics,analysis, and reports to measure, monitor, and improve performance. Identifiesand applies sound, fact-based criteria in setting priorities and makingdecisions. Looks beyond symptoms to determine the root causes of problems andidentify and implement applicable solutions. Integrates knowledge and expertisein making fact-based recommendations and decisions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practicesin fleet management, recommending investments in new equipment or technologiesas appropriate.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fleet management,preferably within mining industry.
  • Diploma or equivalent in Business Administration, Engineering,finance, Project Management, or related field is an asset. Years of experience will be considered inlieu.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing a P/L.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiplepriorities.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety and environmental regulationsapplicable to fleet and equipment operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor andmotivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solvingskills.
  • In-depthknowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and compliance regulations.
  • Strongknowledge of asset management principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Provenhistory of reducing costs and increasing productivity in fleet operations.
  • Stronganalytical skills and ability to use data to inform decision-making.
  • Experiencewith asset management software systems and tools for tracking, monitoring, andanalyzing asset data.
  • Proficientin Microsoft Office.
