Group Summary
The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role
To assist the Manufacturing Engineers in the analysis and implementation of safety, productivity and quality improvement opportunities on the production floor for existing equipment.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Manufacturing Engineer for all carryover programs, new program launches and engineering prototype builds
- Analyze issues affecting internal quality (PPM) and productivity issues (OEE - overall equipment efficiency)
- Update measurables, presentation material, and other tracking documents for monthly Quality Operating System (QOS) reviews and Ergonomic Committee Meetings
- Assist with quotations for current programs (continuous improvement opportunities) and potential new programs (new fixtures, equipment, processes, etc.)
- Perform Ergonomic/Safety risk assessments and assist with quarterly audits
- Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it effects quality and the environment for our customers
- Perform other duties as required
Who we are looking for
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
- Less than 1 year of work related experience.
- Enrolment in a post-secondary program in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or general assembly manufacturing an asset.
- PLC experience an asset
- Basic Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Ability to read and understand AutoCAD layouts and blueprints
- Basic understanding of Ergonomics an asset
