The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for a Automotive Service Technician.

OVERVIEW

The Automotive Service Technician will service and maintain Rogers Centre vehicles, lift devices and facility equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Servicing, repairing and inspecting on-site vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: lift trucks, gas & electric carts, company fleet vehicles, scissor-lifts, super-vacs, cleaning machines, garbage compact equipment, field conversion equipment, and small engine repair
  • Routine maintenance of the pressure washing system, such as pressure washing units, hoses and pressure washing guns, and deal with any emergency service calls as needed
  • Assist in the routine mechanical service of building Emergency Generator Systems. Including oil, filter and battery changes
  • Perform minor welding and fabricating to equipment as needed
  • Ability to understand workshop and parts manuals, and ability to track and record all preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Source and obtain quotations for new equipment and vehicles
  • Provide assistance as required by operation of sweepers, scrubbers, lift trucks, scissor lift, boom lift and/or snow removal equipment as needed
  • Roof preventative maintenance including lubricating mechanical systems, oil changes, hydraulic systems maintenance.
  • Other duties as required


QUALIFICATIONS

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and other Rogers Centre concerts/events as required.

 

  • Possess a valid Canadian Automotive Service Technician 310s or equivalent (small engine etc.)
  • Diesel experience is an asset
  • Hydraulic experience is a requirement
  • Possess a valid Ontario G-level Driver's License
  • Possess a valid "Ice-P" Propane Installer License is an asset
  • Ability to operate Lift Truck, Scissor-Lift, Boom-Lift and Propane Handling. Training to be provided, if necessary.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg.)
  • Ability to adapt to change in various equipment and vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of employee responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • All tools will be provided by employer
