The Fleet Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of full-cycle and cost-effective vehicle asset management that will maximize performance while maintaining a safe and reliable fleet. Duties will include the fleet specification development, servicing, operation, repair, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance management of vehicles and drivers. The Fleet Manager will partner with key business stakeholders and external contractors to deliver efficient fleet operations that aligns with operational, safety, environmental and profitability objectives for Civeo.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Plan and manage the performance and functions related to the procurement, upfitting, servicing, repair, maintenance, and administration of Civeo's commercial and corporate vehicles.
  • In conjunction with Supply Chain, manage third party fleet providers and contractors and ensure the vehicle service and quality meet Civeo's objectives.
  • Conduct Vehicle Life Cycle Analysis and ensure Fleet operations and activities comply with relevant environmental, safety, transportation and industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Lead ongoing forecasting of Fleet needs and present recommendations and opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with key business teams, ensure objectives and outcomes align with stakeholder and operational expectations.
  • Collaborate with Operational Teams in development and implementation of all vehicle and driver policies
  • Implement and project manage initiatives and activities related to fleet improvements.
  • Manage fleet administration standards, DOT compliance, vehicle operating policies, compliance plan and safety manual.
  • Understanding on retrieving and reviewing Commercial and Standard Driver's Abstracts from all Canadian Provinces and Territories.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain on the negotiation of contracts and service level agreements with third party suppliers and/or service providers; manage factory orders and vehicle specifications.
  • Manage Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program, compliance, record keeping and reporting.
  • Lead programs related to Safety Fitness, Annual Operating Authority for busses, fuel usage reporting, permits, insurance, registrations, renewals, driver logbooks and vehicle inspections.
  • Direct the selling or disposal of used vehicles in collaboration with Supply Chain
  • Research and evaluate new vehicles, coordinate with supply chain in purchasing to ensure optimal pricing and quality of vehicles that is best suited for the business.
  • Assess and coordinate commercial vehicle maintenance schedule, action service and repair activities to maintain performance and reliability.
  • Partner with HSE to develop and implement vehicle safety training, corrective and preventive measures, vehicle safety management, incident investigations, and insurance claims.
  • Manage IVMS (Geotab) system administration and user training.
  • Prepare various annual, quarterly, monthly reports for HSE, regulatory organizations, external clients, and Senior Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Transportation, or related field.
  • Certified Transportation Safety Professional CTSP is a must.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing fleet operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of Provincial and Federal legislation/regulations.
  • Understanding of the National Safety Codes regulating commercial vehicle fleets.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, and other computer applications.
  • Experience in Geotab or related IVMS is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing external contracts on fuel usage, maintenance, IVMS system, logbooks, insurances, registration and Department of Transportation compliances and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in using superior collaboration skills and abilities.
  • Superior project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, analytical and planning skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to pass Pre-Access drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with a 5-year driving record satisfactory to Civeo's Vehicle Use & Safe Driving Policy


WORKING CONDITIONS
 

  • Interacts with employees, management, and the public at large.
  • 25% travel will be required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Sitting, standing, bending, kneeling and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Overtime as required.
