The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the procurement review process which includes supplier identification, business terms negotiations, contract drafting and review and supporting with supplier management to minimize risk and optimize the benefit to Fix Network. The Procurement Manager coordinates their efforts with departmental managers to ensure timely delivery of the final negotiated contract in support of the Senior Procurement Manager and from time to time the Global Vice President of Procurement.

This individual will utilize expert knowledge in sourcing, analytics and contract negotiations to complete Procurement project with the goal of meeting the quality requirements and specifications at the most favorable price for the organization, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.

Responsibilities will include the sourcing, contract drafting, review and negotiation, supplier relationship management and such other projects as assigned by the Global VP of Procurement from time to time.

Job Duties

 

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the procurement activities of the organization.
  • Identify vendors of systems, materials, equipment or supplies.
  • Evaluate cost and quality of goods or services.
  • Negotiate or oversee the negotiation of purchase contracts.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
  • Review and support the processing of claims against suppliers.
  • Source, Negotiate, Contract & Execute agreements to fulfill day-to-day business needs, primarily for high value specialty Materials & Services not available on existing agreements.
  • Manage projects and initiatives to deliver optimal benefits to the organization.
  • Category Management support (Assisting in Implementing process improvements and New Supplier Integration.).
  • The Procurement Manager is responsible for occasionally leading and aiding in the development of and instituting Optimized Processes. Assigned areas of focus may include Systems, Procurement Operations, Materials, Logistics, Contract Management, Supplier Management and Contract Administration.
  • Maintain an extensive database for all projects and related contracts and provides information for analysis and reporting.
  • Provide contract updates and relevant contract details to all internal departments as requested.
  • Stay current with internal and external factors impacting procurement function.
  • Research and survey buying markets to source the best supplier's products, in accordance with corporate objectives.
  • Arrange payments to vendors for products or services procured.
  • Prepare and administer bids, requests for quotes, requests for proposal, requests for information, and other vendor documentation.
  • Manage service level agreements, scope of work, and contract terms with service providers.
  • Advise departments and business units of lead time required to obtain contracts and establish new supplier relationships.
  • Support the identification of alternate sources in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.


Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • 5-8 years' progressive experience in a purchasing role.
  • Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation or registration in the educational program of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada.
  • Comprehensive experience drafting vendor agreements including the ability to strategically assess and mitigate risk with vendors and suppliers through well-structured agreements.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Considerable knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices.
  • Strong writing skills for creating executive reports, correspondence, contracts, requests, bids, and other documentation.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate tools for grading, analyzing, and assessing materials, equipment, supplies, services, and other commodities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and Forms. Previous experience creating dashboards and tracking project progress through Power BI is an asset.
  • Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories.
  • Ability to create business forecasts with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • ERP user experience.
  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment.
  • Working experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Work experience in international purchasing preferred.
  • Knowledge of local and global markets for the industry.
  • Basic mathematical skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and averages required.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners and internal procurement team members.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.


Work Conditions
