ABOUT THE ROLE

This position is responsible for researching, coordinating, and analyzing data, and making recommendations for supporting Paramedic Services Fleet Electrification Plan. Prepares reports and associated documentation. Assists in the preparation of budget reports for new electric vehicles and associated infrastructure. Supports the unit with technology implementation for analysis, reporting and recommendations. Assists in tender creation and contract administration for new vehicles, required infrastructure and outfitting of vehicles. Research funding opportunities, supports the development of policies, plans and initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for Paramedic Services fleet. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
 

  • Collaborates/works with stakeholders and follows the corporate strategic leadership, planning and direction related to this function.
  • Researches, coordinates data collection, analyzes data to identify opportunities and make recommendations for supporting the Paramedic Services Fleet Electrification Plan.
  • Provides input into budget reports for new electric vehicles and associated infrastructure.
  • Develops and submits applications to various external funding sources for financial support to develop, plan, implement and report on greenhouse gas reduction programs and initiatives for Paramedic Services fleet.
  • Coordinates the development, planning, staged implementation and reporting of greenhouse gas reduction initiatives for Paramedic Services fleet.Conducts research, analysis and policy development for Paramedic Services electric vehicles and collaborates with local municipalities for opportunities for a comprehensive regional strategy.
  • Supports data collection, and trend analysis of greenhouse gas emissions relating to Paramedic Services fleet for energy reporting requirements or reports to Regional Council.
  • Prepare reports and associated documentation as required.
  • Assists in the preparation of tender documents and quotes for vehicles and equipment.
  • Assists in administration and functions relating to the award of new and renewing vehicle and eqiupment contracts.
  • Supports the asset management system and software interface.
  • Administers Paramedic Services Fleet management system and data collections for department and council reports.
  • Works with internal stakeholders on product customization in areas affecting users.
  • Provides business-related information for transition from current process to new methodology.
  • Devises roll-out plan and schedules, as appropriate.
  • Documents business process changes/business impact of application upgrades and modifications.
  • Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns, as appropriate.
  • Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards.
  • Participates on committees, work groups, task forces and special projects, as assigned.
  • Manages information in accordance with legislation and corporate standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
 

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Science or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years demonstrated experience in related fleet management/contract administration practices, and public sector procurement, including experience extracting, analyzing, and reporting technical data and creating and maintaining data files.
  • Valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license free of serious offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Knowledge and technical analytical skills related to fleet management.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in fleet management, planning and energy conservation.
