HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

- Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic
Job duties:
- Complete repairs on a equipment based on priority sequence from the Fleet Manager.
- Follow up on repair requisitions from various sites and schedule maintenance / repairs needed accordingly.
- Follow preventative maintenance requirements as per equipment manual.
- Verify that maintenance and repairs are in accordance with the Commercial Vehicle Manual for the company.
- Follow CVIP requirements for all vehicles.
- Solve problems from troubleshooting to diagnosis to repair.
- Develop work scopes and schedules for equipment to be repaired.
- Track and document all repairs and costs.
- Order parts for servicing, complete reports and fill out work orders.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Keep the shop is good and safe working order and conduct regular inspections.
- Manage other shop personnel as needed.
- Participate in and follow all requirements of the company and client HSE programs.
Terms of employment:
- Full time permanent
- Wage: $40, annual bonuses.
- Benefits package offered: Medical extended benefits after 3 months, company will pay 50%.
- Location(s) of work: Same as business location and various locations in Edmonton and surrounding areas, Calgary and surrounding areas, and various locations within Alberta depending on where our projects are located.
Skills / Requirements:
- 3+ years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician.
- Must possess a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic On Road Certificate.
- Possess excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Ditch Witch HDD drills is an asset.
- Experience with Hydrovacs is an asset.
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written.
- Have a valid Class 5 driver's license (or Class 3 or Class 1).
- Have a clean driver's abstract (3 or less demerits).
- CSTS 2020 (Required).
- WHMIS 2015 (Required).
- Commercial Driver Training.
- Standard First Aid.
