We're hiring a Lead Senior Automotive Technician in our Victoria Auto Service Centre!

As the Lead Technician, you're responsible for ensuring all repairs completed at the Victoria Auto Service Centre meet BCAA's high standards for vehicle safety and performance while meeting Members' expectations regarding cost and time. You'll train apprentices, lube technicians and other team members so they gain the skills and expertise necessary to meet Members' needs. In this senior role, you will represent BCAA and contribute towards a growing business.

What you'll bring 

 

  • Automotive Red Seal Certificate. Current and up-to-date training on automotive technologies with a focus on OBD-II courses


 

  • Five years of experience as a Journeyperson Technician


 

  • Clean BC Driver License Class 5 or better


 

  • Ability to lift 70 lbs (32 kg), bend, reach, walk and stand for long periods of time


 

  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


 

  • Experience with Automotive DMS systems and modern scan tools


Once here, you will: 

 

  • Be ultimately responsible for the successful completion of each repair that leaves the shop. This includes your own work and those of other technical team members.


 

  • Use your expertise to teach, mentor and develop the skills of your team.


 

  • Lead by example and ensure compliance with BCAA policies and procedures, as well as those from external agencies such as WorkSafe BC.


 

  • Work collaboratively with the Service Manager to develop, manage, provide counter measures and be accountable for the location's operating plan to achieve monthly and annual labour sales targets.


 

  • Communicate regularly with Service Advisors and the Service Manager to meet the needs and expectations of our Members.


 

  • Stay current on technical advances, BCAA products and services, and our competitors' offerings.

The salary range for this position is $ The salary range for this position is $73,167.96 to $91,460.04 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
