Lead Hand - Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic 

Location: Innisfil, ON
Work Environment: In-Shop
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday-Friday, Day shift, 40 hours/week)

About the Role

As a Lead Hand, you'll oversee the Service Department, ensuring safety and efficiency. You'll oversee technicians, manage schedules, and maintain high-quality standards. Expect to bill 50%-75% of your time.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Oversee day-to-day shop operations
  • Ensure technicians meet quality and efficiency targets
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Communicate with customers about ongoing work
  • Perform and sign off on repairs and diagnostics
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and Service Writers
  • Provide training and technical guidance to technicians


About You
 

  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, and safety-focused
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and work order systems
  • Excellent communication skills


Qualifications
 

  • Licensed Heavy Equipment/Truck and Coach Technician (310T or 421A)
  • Valid driver's license (clean abstract); commercial license is a plus
  • 2+ years as a Lead Hand, 5+ years in the industry
  • Experience with ERP software and complex machinery
  • Strong mechanical skills (hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical repair)

  • Comply with safety regulations and policies
  • Report hazards and safety violations
  • Use required safety equipment and protective devices
