Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Regional HR Manager and under the general direction of the Plant Manager, the HR Plant Manager plans, organizes and directs the activities of the Human Resources Department. They will work closely with each department to ensure all personnel needs are met.
What you can look forward to as the HR Manager in Windsor:
- Administration of compensation, benefits and performance management systems for all employees
- Prepare and process HRIS transactions, including employee status and pay rate changes
- Manpower planning to ensure adequate manpower to meet customer demand
- Maintain up to date policy/procedure manuals for all departmental functions
- Plan, direct and supervise work activities of direct reports
- Management and administration of WSIB claims and NEER costs
- Management and administration of short and long-term disability claims
- Negotiations and implementation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Plan, prepare and conduct plant wide training in areas of benefits, government legislation, pension, benefits
- Recruitment and selection of new hires including new hire orientation
- Review proposed budgets with Division Manager and Controller; suggest revisions as necessary; participate in discussions between Division Manager and Controller for final budget submission to Corporate Management
- Keep the Division Manager fully informed of conditions which may affect the operations economically or relating to personnel
- Promote a positive work environment by employee engagement and recognition programs
- Support all health and safety initiatives including assisting in policy creation and implementation
- Development of salary staff through motivation and training by mean of formal Performance Development Plans
- Ensure all Human Resource IATF requirements are maintained
Your Profile as an HR Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related
- 5+ years relevant HR experience in an automotive manufacturing facility
- Basic knowledge of SPC and Control Charts
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with strategy planning for organization development, recruitment, and resourcing
- Experience with performance, culture, and change management
- Benefits & pension administration experience
- Union familiarity, grievance / arbitration resolution experience
- Training & Development
- Employee & Labour Relations
- Payroll Processing & Administration
- WSIB / Health & Safety Management
