Job Description
We are looking for an experienced In-shop diesel technician to join our team in Winnipeg.
This role requires good customer service experience. Also some experience with engine diagnostics, engine rebuild, and emissions system is essential. A level of chassis diagnostics and repairs is also needed for this position.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools
- Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components
- Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines
- Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop
- Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens
- Completes training in line with skill and business requirements
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
- Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisors.
Responsibilities
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- Red seal certification (Heavy duty equipment or truck and transport)
- Locally valid driving permit
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
About the role:
- Working hours are 7am to 5h30pm Monday-Friday.
- When in this role- you will work on a variety of equipment: fire trucks-coaches-buses-school buses-On highway vehicles and more.
- Safety inspection license is an asset
- Electrical interest is also an asset.
- 5000$ sign on bonus is eligible for this position
- The successful candidate may be asked to support mining operations and or local field service operations.
