Your Daily Contribution & Impact:

The Team Leaderis responsible for maintaining a high level of service by optimizing the efficiency of our operations and service to our customers. The team leader will be responsible for assisting the supervisor in the planning, coordinating, and executing, in a timely manner, the daily activities of the distribution center and executing programs that ensure the needs of all functions are met (productivity, accuracy, training, safety, security and housekeeping). 

 

  • This position will primarily work with our Inbound Team
  • Plan and coordinate and participate in the receiving and put away activities including directing work on SAP system, data entry, creation of receiving documents, supervision of team and follow up on inventory issues in order to meet or exceed Distribution Center (DC) objectives. Maintain / exceed performance metrics (KPI: productivity, quality, inventory level, service level, etc)
  • Liaise with facility leadership team to identify barriers, opportunities for improvement and ensure our customer's needs are met in a cost-effective manner
  • Promote and support a safe and healthy work environment in accordance with government regulations;
  • Participate in the training of new employees and the ongoing training of existing employees to ensure quality and productivity goals are met or exceeded
  • Act as a leader and as a coach with employees by encouraging continuous improvement and supporting an inclusive work environment.
  • Maintains inventory by identifying, sorting, labeling, counting, placing materials in stock and recording location of where inventory is stored.
  • Maintains storage and distribution of product by pulling orders from warehouse to staging / shipping area; or re-stocking products on shelves.
  • Operate powered, mobile / lifting equipment for order picking of bulk items. This position will primarily operate an Order Picker and Reach Truck
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


Expertise & Essential Skills:

 

  • Previous work experience in a similar role is a definitive asset
  • Must be in good physical condition (ability to stand, walk, sit, and handle parts)
  • Must be capable of lift parts up to 50 pounds (23kg)
  • Must be open to working on different shifts and on weekends;
  • Ability to work with rolling equipment (pallet jacks, trolleys, carts)
  • Ability to work with Powered lifting devices such as a Reach truck, Walkie Rider and Stock Chasers. Experience with an Order Picker and Reach Truck is preferred but will provide practical training for a suitable applicant that has passed a CSA approve Forklift course. Must pass practical competency test on all equipment that will be operated
  • Ability to adapt and lead in a constantly changing environment
  • Capacity to work under pressure for meeting customer needs;
  • Strong leadership skills, which include the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Possess ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Computer literacy (mandatory)
  • Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is an asset
  • Available on occasion to work outside regular business hours
  • Organized and self disciplined
  • Task oriented
  • Diplomatic and tactful in communication
  • Maintain spirit of cooperation with co-workers.
