Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic (310T)

Waste Connections of Canada has an immediate opening for a 1st or 2nd year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Thunder Bay, ON to work on a fleet of garbage trucks. In this position, you will be working on heavy diesel trucks. We do a lot of hydraulics and electrical along with preventative maintenance and minor engine repair. We are looking for a SAFETY inclined, energetic, autonomous and proactive team player capable of making a difference in his/her team and community.

We offer top hourly wages and shift incentives, and as this is a union position, you get great union benefits and a pension plan. We also offer safety bonuses, tool allowance, and supply boots, uniforms, etc.

Hourly range: $24 per hour (1st year) or $30.28/hour (2nd year)

Location: Thunder Bay, ON

Qualifications:

 

• Enrolled in Apprenticeship for 310T/ Heavy Duty Mechanic
• 1-2 years of experience in truck and trailer repairs
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests
• Experience with drivability, hydraulics, engines
