Job Description:
The School of Public Safety is looking for a part-time professor to teach the Provincial & Motor Vehicle Offences course (LAWS-6029) within the Paralegal Program at Fanshawe College. A part-time professor at Fanshawe college is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. The successful candidate will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus, as required.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Excellent communicator
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
- Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
- Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
- Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary 4-year degree
- University Law Program, Paralegal Program or Law Clerk Program graduate
- Minimum 3 years recent, relevant experience
- Bachelor of Education or Master's of Education an asset
- If applicant is a Lawyer or Paralegal, membership in good standing with Law Society of Canada is required (must provide LSO number)
Approximate Start Date: January 7, 2025
Remuneration: $110.00 ($103.77 excluding vacation pay) per teaching contact hour. The hourly rate is paid for all teaching contact hours taught and compensates for other time spent on ancillary duties including, but not limited to class preparation, assignment/exam grading (including final exam), invigilation, uploading end of term grades by, student communication, and meeting attendances outside of classroom hours.
