Here's what you'll be doing
You'll be an integral part of our Maintenance Team, ensuring the smooth operation of our DAG Autoplex and other facilities. Your versatility and problem-solving skills will be crucial in keeping our environment in premier condition.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and proactive maintenance on building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions or facility-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Facility Upkeep:
- Oversee the cleanliness, organization, and overall functionality of the dealership, including workspaces, showrooms, and service areas.
- Manage landscaping and snow removal.
- Perform carpentry tasks including work with lumber, drywall, and millwork.
- Install, assemble, and disassemble furniture and shelving.
- Maintain the air-line systems and overhead doors.
- Operate garbage bin compactors and tractors for bin delivery.
- Snaking drains.
- Lights and ballast replacement.
- Small plumbing and electrical tasks.
- Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, ensuring work meets dealership standards.
- Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the dealership meets all regulatory requirements related to building maintenance and environmental safety.
- Emergency Response: Be available to address urgent maintenance needs, such as system breakdowns or facility emergencies.
You need these qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in a maintenance, facilities management, or similar role, preferably within an automotive or commercial setting.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of safe utilization of various power tools and equipment, workplace safety standards and practices, and construction and building practices.
- Personality: A proactive problem-solver with strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability: Flexible to respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular hours, including Saturdays.
- You hold a valid Ontario G Driver's License and have your own vehicle.
It would be nice if
- You have experience in preventative maintenance of commercial buildings.
- You're certified in specific trades, including HVAC, electrical work, or a related field are, or have formal training in facility maintenance.
- You have experience working in the automotive industry.
- Building operator training is a plus but not required.
