Overall Responsibility:
This role is responsible for purchasing and managing spend for MRO / Indirect category within the AMTB Procurement Organization. This position may support and facilitate the strategic sourcing process for MRO / Indirect spend categories to include market and industry analysis, supplier research and review, category and supplier segmentation, sourcing events, analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation. Ensuring the most optimal terms and conditions for AMTB without any negative impact to the service or quality or any disruption on AMTB's production chain.
Accountabilities:
- Develop comprehensive reports to identify and categorize ABC vendors and parts/services related to indirect material and service purchasing.
- Analyze vendor performance to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Lead contract negotiations with A and B category vendors/parts/services across the US, Canada, and Mexico to secure the most favorable terms for the company.
- Collaborate with global teams to align strategies and achieve procurement goals.
- Share lessons learned and best practices across regions and support cross-region implementations to enhance procurement efficiency and consistency.
- Work with Woodstock internal customers to ensure understanding and compliance with the Indirect Purchasing Procedure.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders to facilitate effective procurement processes.
- Achieve a 5% average cost avoidance in all indirect purchasing and service orders by the end of the year.
- Identify and qualify suppliers that meet quality, delivery, and cost standards.
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure alignment with company goals and procurement standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with global contract management.
- Familiarity with procurement procedures and cost-saving strategies.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across regions and functions.
