Job Description
The Paris Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) is one of three Canadian PDCs that receives and distributes thousands of automotive service parts to our dealers across Canada, and is an integral part of the Ford Motor Company organization.
This position will support, Outbound Operations & On-time Customer Delivery.
Work Location: Paris, ON
Shift: Afternoon-shift (2:30pm-11:00pm)
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage unionized hourly personnel
o Carry out Company practice/policy in the areas of work expectation, discipline, training, and personnel administration.
o Responsible for delivering objectives related to Safety, Cleanliness, Quality, Cost and Productivity
o Encourage a positive working relationship with UNIFOR employees and Leadership, including fair and equal administration of the contract
o Facilitate crew meetings.
o Calculate daily labor hour requirements to ensure proper utilization of manpower (including any overtime and vacation)
o Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
o Create a conducive work environment for employees to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
o Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
o Build employee capability, communication & recognition - Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility
- Ensure proper material flow from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the delivery of product to customers
- Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources in order to appropriately cover material handling responsibilities
- Ensure flawless flow of parts through proactive planning and cross-functional communication
Effectively implement the Engineering Change Process
Identify data gaps and take corrective actions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: Completion of Post-Secondary
• Experience:
o Currently - the opening is afternoon shift however, ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends is required
o Ability to work independently with limited supervision
o Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms of safety, quality, and throughput
o Strong organizational and administrative skills
o Ability to multi-task
o Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
• Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in Ford Truths (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
Preferred Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, Packaging Engineering, or Business Mgmt.
• Experience:
o Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
o Safety and MP&L experience preferred
o Knowledge of constraint management principles
o Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
