JobSummary

The FleetService Underwriter supports the Fleet Shop operations by managing records,preparing financial documents, overseeing inventory, assisting vendors, andmaintaining data systems (RTA). The role involves technical analysis,preventive maintenance oversight, investigations, and coordination to ensureoperational efficiency and fleet reliability.

KeyResponsibilities
 

  • Operational Support:
    • Manage the service desk operations by collecting, verifying, and distributing vehicle maintenance data.
    • Prepare and process invoices, payroll worksheets, work orders, and related reports.
    • Assist vendors and managers with inquiries, including authorizing third-party repairs.
  • Data & Inventory Management:
    • Monitor, reconcile, and maintain the RTA data system for accuracy.
    • Conduct inventory control for fleet parts, vehicles, and equipment.
    • Prepare and review reports related to maintenance and operations.
  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
    • Design and implement a Preventive Maintenance (PM) program for all fleet assets.
    • Monitor fleet repair trends, component failures, and identify opportunities for maintenance optimization.
  • Fleet Investigations:
    • Investigate failures, conducting root cause analyses with internal/external stakeholders to determine faults and recommend solutions.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage inventory, oversee financial compliance, and ensure timely reporting.
    • Coordinate fleet records in preparation for CVSA inspections.
  • Training & Collaboration:
    • Train personnel on relevant systems and inspection routines as needed.
  • Operational Goals:
    • Minimize downtime to <15%, aiming for <10% unplanned breakdown interruptions.


Qualifications

Education& Experience:
 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of experience in records management, reporting, or fleet operations. Experience with RTA systems is an asset.


Skills:
 

  • Proficient in mathematical analysis and data interpretation.
  • Skilled in report writing, technical analysis, and data entry.
  • Effective communicator with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in operating office tech (spreadsheets, word processors).


Licenses:
 

  • Valid BC Class 3 Driver's License is preferred.


WorkingConditions & Physical Requirements
 

  • Environment:
    • Office and shop setting, occasional exposure to noise, dust, grease, and fumes.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Prolonged walking/standing; handling objects >30 lbs is rare.
