Job Description
Job Summary:
The Automotive Service Technician in Nisku, Alberta is responsible to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain a fleet of mobile heavy-duty equipment used in transportation and the oil & gas industry.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Preventative and scheduled maintenance on fleet of trucks, trailers and forklifts, including checking their performance and inspecting equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
- Reassemble equipment
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Follow oral and written work orders
- General Housekeeping Duties
- Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements
- Participate in training programs as required by the company
- All other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
- Partial high school education
- Must be able to speak, write, and understand English
- Prior experience an asset
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Apprenticeship status or Journeyman Certification in either Automotive or Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician program

- Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures

- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
HSE Requirements:
- Shop environment and working indoors. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases and changes of temperature/humidity
- Physical requirements: squatting, bending, sitting, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 45 kilograms, reaching, twisting, crawling, ladder work, walking on rough ground, and working near moving equipment
- Required to at all times wear proper protective clothing and equipment and perform duties in a safe manner.
