The Service Distribution Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to support training needs, with the ability to travel to other sites in North America. This position will be based out of Scarborough, Canada. The Training Program Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the success of Tesla's Service Distribution Team by developing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training programs that drive operational excellence, safety, and compliance. You will deliver training content that meets the needs of a diverse group of employees, from new hires to experienced team members, with a focus on material handling equipment, safety procedures, and operational processes. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including EHS, Security, Quality, and PE, you will ensure training programs align with business objectives and comply with country laws and regulations.
To succeed, you should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a distribution environment, with a strong background in material handling equipment, safety procedures, and operational processes, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Training Program Specialist, you will have a direct impact on the team's performance and success, enabling employees to develop the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles and driving improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Tesla onboarding team to ensure a smooth transition into training, including scheduling, logistics, and communication
- Facilitate live trainings for new hires, existing employees, and other training that may require formal training, including material handling equipment and safety topics
- Document and train all levels of Distribution Center staff on operational processes, safety requirements, and policy compliance, including site/country specific training content
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Environmental Health, Safey, and Security (EHS&S), Inventory Control, Quality, and Process Engineers, to develop and implement training programs that meet business needs and comply with country laws and regulations
- Monitor training trends and certification gaps through training record retention and analysis, and track certifications of team members to safely operate material handling equipment
- Facilitate in-person New Hire Orientation, preparing new team members to meet operational performance and safety expectations, and ensure the Learning Management System (LMS) is accurate and up to date
- Develop and implement process training in partnership with the PE team, and create site-specific training content to support business objectives and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years working in a Distribution environment (Lead experience preferred), with experience operating a variety of warehouse material handling equipment
- Verifiable work experience in a role requiring the inspection, use, and storage of fall protection equipment (minimum 3 years)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with international partners (Proficiency in English, Spanish, and French a plus)
- Compelling presentation skills and ability to facilitate training classes, with empathy and patience for all levels of adult learners
- Demonstrates professionalism, including organized, dress, and attitude, with a strong passion for facilitating large groups
- Willing to obtain a passport, with experience working in a fast-paced environment and leadership role
