We are currently looking for a Bilingual Loss Recovery Representative to join our team in Mississauga, ON (Hybrid).
This role will be responsible for maximizing salvage recoveries while minimizing collection costs and losses. Incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the activities of the 3rd party collection agencies/ Legal counsel. Incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the insurance tracking position and the insurance claims departments.
A Day in the Life:
- Assess all loss recoveries files to determine optimal course of action for recovery of the account - Review account history, prior collection activity and financial stability of customer and co-signor; Utilize research tools to obtain and analyze information, i.e. credit bureaus, CSRS searches. 25%
- Assign accounts to collection agencies - Monitor and manage their activity/progress to ensure prompt results. 25%.
- Assign accounts to legal counsel - Provide legal counsel with clear written instructions and required back up documentation; Monitor progress of file and request ongoing up-dates as required. Collaborate with legal counsel throughout the process, review their recommendations and provide feedback and input. 5%.
- Administer outsourcing Programs/Parameters - Provide recommendations to management with respect to establishing/modifying parameters to enhance the program; Co-ordinate with agency to develop process to close accounts and payment reporting; Ensure accounts are assigned according to parameters set by NCF; Identify potential problem areas and submit recommendations to management. Administer bankrupt accounts - pursue trustee to obtain additional details where required. Administer bankrupt accounts - pursue trustee to obtain additional details where required. - Reporting - Develop monthly reports for management that provide performance comparisons for collection agency and internal collections. Evaluate results and submit recommendations to management; Bi-weekly reports to collection agency for payments received on outsource accounts. 10%
- Administer accounts in house - Contact customers to make payment arrangements and initiate follow up. Issue past due notices/address customer complaints promptly and professionally; Commence legal proceedings in Small Claims Court where deemed appropriate; initiate skip trace process on charge off accounts where customer still has our security. 10%
- Miscellaneous Items - Identify potential risk areas within NCF and bring to the attention of management; Review activity on repossession and skip accounts and submit recommendations with respect to deficient items. 5%
- Maintains day to day operational queues where established and required and provides management with operational reporting. 5%
Who We're Looking for:
- Excellent English and French communication skills, both verbal and written
- University degree is preferred.
- Experience working in Collections OR Accounts Receivables is required.
- Proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook, and good comfort level adapting to new computer systems is required.
- Must have good analytical skills, have an eye for detail and accuracy, and be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Required to make decisions on taking a payment from a customer's account and updating customer information on the system to keep it current, as well as problem solving and skip tracing for customers that cannot be located.
- Must be Eligible to work in Canada, as NCI does not provide any sponsorships.
