Job Summary

The Vice President, Finance (VP, Finance) is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization's financial planning, reporting, and operational finance functions. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Finance, the VP, Finance will lead strategic financial initiatives, drive process improvements, and ensure alignment with corporate objectives. This role requires a balance of strategic vision, operational acumen, and leadership excellence to manage a high-performing team and support the organization's growth and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Leadership
 

  • Collaborate with the EVP, Finance to develop and execute financial strategies that support long-term organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Operations Controller and Corporate Controller to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all areas of finance.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership by delivering insights and recommendations on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Drive the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and multi-year financial plans.


Operational Oversight
 

  • Oversee the Operations Controller, ensuring excellence in financial reconciliations, operational financial analysis, and process improvements.
  • Support the team in delivering actionable insights and financial reporting that informs decision-making and enhances operational efficiency.
  • Partner with operational teams to optimize working capital and ensure alignment with financial goals.


Corporate Accounting and Compliance
 

  • Supervise the Corporate Controller in managing the Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable (A/R), and Accounts Payable (A/P) teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
  • Oversee internal controls and audit processes, ensuring adherence to GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
  • Monitor cash flow, ensuring the organization maintains adequate liquidity for operations and growth initiatives.


Team Development and Performance Management
 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team success and drive performance.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
 

  • Work closely with operations, sales, and other business units to align financial objectives with organizational priorities.
  • Serve as a key advisor on mergers, acquisitions, or other strategic initiatives requiring financial expertise.


Qualifications

Education and Certifications
 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • CPA designation


Experience
 

  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including managing multi-functional finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of operational finance, corporate accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in leading financial strategy and operational execution in a mid-to-large organization.
