Position: Staff/Principal Engineer - AI/ML
Location: Waterloo, ON (On-site, 4 days per week)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000
About the Role: OpenTrust Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Staff/Principal Engineer - AI/ML to drive innovation and develop cutting-edge AI/ML solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI technology. You will play a key role in product development, from concept to deployment, leveraging advanced AI/ML frameworks and cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML-driven applications using Vue.js, FAST API, MongoDB, Python, and AWS Cloud.
- Utilize AI/ML frameworks such as OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow to enhance product capabilities.
- Implement DevOps practices for CloudFormation to optimize cloud infrastructure.
- Take ownership of the full product lifecycle, from ideation to successful market deployment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate AI solutions into real-world applications.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows and conferences, including occasional speaking engagements.
- Travel to the U.S. 3-4 times annually for customer installations, events, and industry networking.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering, with a strong emphasis on AI/ML development.
- Proven ability to deliver AI-driven products beyond theoretical applications.
- Strong background in cloud-based development, data engineering, and DevOps.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
