The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Operations Administration, this role is responsible for ensuring municipal and provincial compliance as it relates to the Town of Caledon's Right-of-Way Occupancy Permits and all other road use permits, in accordance with applicable legislation. You will review and complete inspections, attend development meetings, investigate customer requests, and collaborate with other departments to ensure adherence to policies and safety standards.
As the Operations Coordinator, Roads and Fleet, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
- Review and complete pre, post, and warranty site inspections to ensure compliance on work sites for various road-related permits.
- Attend Town Subdivision Development and Region of Peel Capital Projects construction on-site meetings, collaborating to provide clarity on the road permit application process.
- Address customer service requests and respond to after-hour emergencies (on-call).
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure adherence to corporate policies and safety standards.
- Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a post-secondary diploma in Civil/Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of [X] years of related experience in road maintenance or construction. Certification as a Certified Engineering Technician (C.Tech) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in customer service and possess superior organizational and communication skills. We are looking for someone with the ability to work independently, solve problems, and make decisions within established policies. The successful candidate will also be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with municipal asset management technologies.
The successful candidate for Operations Coordinator, Roads and Fleet will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely, and after hours (as required).
This position offers a salary range of $87,552.45 - $109,403.06 plus a competitive benefits package.
