The Opportunity
We are looking for Summer Vacation Replacements (TPT) to join our Oshawa Operations - Powerhouse team!
As part of the Oshawa Operations - Powerhouse team, you will be scheduled on a temporary basis providing summer vacation coverage to safely perform production assignments in our fast-paced vehicle manufacturing environment. You are a motivated and self-disciplined team player who shares our core values: Customers, Relationships, Excellence and Seek Truth, and you are able to function in a manufacturing team environment where Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles are highly integrated.
- NOTE: Only students who completed a 4th Class Power Engineering Program from an accredited college are eligible for consideration
Duties and responsibilities:
- Requires a working knowledge of high pressure steam boilers, air compressors, and all auxiliary equipment in a First Class Power Plant.
- Able to assist in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all Powerhouse Equipment
- Perform housekeeping and other tasks under the direction of the Powerhouse Shift Engineer or Powerhouse Maintenance Leader
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work a rotating shift schedule 24/7
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills
- Energetic and self-motivated
- Able to work independently and as part of a team

Required Qualifications
Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete the General Motors hiring process requirements which include a comprehensive assessment and background check.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary educational institution.
- Knowledge of safety awareness, quality, and compliance.
- Completion of a 4th Class Power Engineering Program from an accredited college
