Your Daily Contribution & Impact:

The Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in planning and directing the day-to-day operations of the store. They will also support the Store Manager in executing store sales, achieve operational goals and develops strategies to improve customer service while fostering a positive culture and a strong sense of team cohesiveness and belonging.

• Support inventory control, facility maintenance, execution of standard operating procedures, security and distribution of goods

• Sell a diversified line of products via phone, fax, email and over-the-counter, promoting Private Brands and eCommerce channels, handle all customer transactions; including all sales, returns, and defectives

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers. Handle customer complaints effectively and positively. Call on customers as necessary.

• Support Store Manager in managing payroll costs (including controlling overtime), controlling operating expenses and accounts receivables and collection, employee scheduling,

• Continually identify and implement process improvements and efficiency enhancements to improve productivity levels and profitability • Supervise store employees when manager is not present

• Coach, mentor, train and retain a knowledgeable team, participate in store recruitment initiatives as required

• Play an active role in the store's cleanliness, branding, product merchandising, cleanliness, physical appearance of stock, safety, health and environmental compliance

• Work closely with the sales/marketing departments in promotions, SPIFFs and displays

• Ensure successful monthly internal store audits and senior leadership audits of stores. • Has the knowledge and ability to perform all positions and shifts if needed.

• "Maintain the "Never Say No" attitude/mantra and be the Ambassador for the Bumper to Bumper Brand"

• Will be required to travel and support other stores in their regions as needed

• Other duties as assigned

Expertise & Essential Skills:

High school diploma required, Associate's Degree in retail management or similar an asset

• 1-3 years experience in aftermarket auto parts sales

• Extensive product knowledge or the ability to obtain product knowledge

• Successful completion of WHMS and Health and Safety Training • Experience with MS Office products

• Must maintain a valid driver's license

• Required to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business which may require night and weekend shifts • Required to work the hours necessary to open and/or close the store

• Ability to exercise judgement and to work independently

• Demonstrated organizational and comprehensive skills

• Strong communication skills, ability to convey message in an organized, clear and effective manner

• Experience working under pressure and setting priorities

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to handle difficult customer situations

• Comfortable utilizing up-sell techniques

• Working knowledge of Store P&L, inventory management and leadership is ideal if role progression is Store leadership

• Strong cash handling skills, including the use of POS systems
