On-site: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.

General Motors CAMI Assembly is Canada's first, all-electric vehicle assembly plant. The Role

We are looking for experienced Pipefitter to join our CAMI Facility!

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Install, assemble, and maintain piping systems according to specifications and drawings.
  • Install pipes using various welding and plumbing techniques
  • Perform regular inspections and repair broken or leaking pipes
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine the layout of piping systems.
  • Measure and cut pipes using various tools to ensure proper fit before installation.
  • Join pipes using welding, soldering, or adhesive techniques ensuring leak-proof connections.
  • Inspect and test piping systems for safety and performance, adjusting as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other trades professionals to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Follow all safety protocol, policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems
  • Fabricate and install piping systems for various applications, including water tower, silo material piping, etc..
  • Weld pipes using appropriate techniques to ensure durability and reliability.
  • Maintain and repair existing piping systems as needed.
  • Read and interpret schematics to accurately build and rig piping layouts.
  • Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precise fittings and installations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies while performing all tasks.


Additional Job Description

Interested individuals must meet the following minimum qualifications:

Who We Are Looking For:
 

  • High School education with a valid Steamfitter (307A) License
  • Successful completion of Canadian Steamfitter Apprenticeship Program
  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter, with a strong background in plumbing systems and installations.
  • In-depth knowledge of plumbing techniques, tools, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals related to plumbing systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with plumbing-related issues.
  • Familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations.
  • Ability to work scheduled overtime as required
