As a Fleet Technician (Heavy Duty Mechanic), you'll make a difference by using your hands-on skills to service everything from light vehicles to heavy-duty equipment, helping ensure critical city services run smoothly every day.
What YOU'RE Responsible for:
- Completing preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment, including small engines, light, medium, and heavy-duty units.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Performing CVIP inspections and documenting work in compliance with provincial safety standards.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle accessories such as safety lighting and telematics systems.
- Supporting in-shop organization, safety practices, and inventory management.
- Responding to unexpected breakdowns and coordinating quick, effective repair solutions.
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments to meet operational needs and timelines.
What YOU Bring:
- Journeyman Heavy-Duty Mechanic Certification.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant maintenance and repair experience in municipal, commercial, or industrial environments.
- Experience working on a variety of equipment and systems including onboard diagnostics, HVAC, and telematics.
- Valid Class 3 driver's license with air brakes endorsement and a clean driving record.
- CVIP license or eligibility to obtain it.
- Confidence using computer systems to track work orders and diagnose equipment.
- A commitment to safety, service, and precision in everything you do.
- A calm, problem-solving mindset that thrives in both routine work and on-the-fly challenges.
- Clear, respectful communication with team members, vendors, and internal clients.
- Attention to detail, a commitment to safety and pride in doing the job right the first time.

- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
What WE Offer:
- A salary range of $ 76,606.40 - $ 99,944.00 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
