Description du poste

The City Fleet Manager (FM) is responsible for the overall productivity and performance of their assigned drivers and tractors. You will accomplish this through ongoing review of key performance indicators, followed by active participation in strategies to positively affect results. You are expected to address issues that go beyond the scope of regular daily activity. You are also expected to be a leader for the entire fleet by providing direction and support on a day to day basis. Must be well organized, an excellent communicator and have a keen sense of timeliness in prioritizing personal and fleet activities.

Specific Responsibilities include:
 

  • Lead and retain a designated fleet of drivers as well as an assigned fleet.
  • Establish a good working relationship with each driver.
  • Ensure that assigned fleet of tractors is utilized in the best interests of the company. In its basic form, this responsibility means maximizing the number of days per month that tractors are productive.
  • Ensure that assigned drivers are meeting productivity targets.
  • Ongoing management of driver performance outside of mileage and days of work, with a focus on company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
  • Working on behalf of both the driver and the company to resolve any day to day or long term issues in order to positively affect driver retention statistics.
  • Ensure that all daily dispatch activities are carried out in a timely manner.


Our Ideal Candidate will possess the following qualifications:
 

  • Experience in the Transportation is a key asset.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to realize sense of timeliness in prioritizing personal and fleet activities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a clear sense of urgency about planning and executing work.
  • Ability to maintain composure, effectiveness and flexibility under pressure will be key to your success in this position.
  • Strong ability to adapt to varying situations.
  • Exceptional Problem Solving abilities.


This position is a Monday - Friday schedule, daytime working hours.
